We are excited to announce the recent arrival of our new MyLab Vet ultrasound machine. This machine has the latest ultrasound technologies available in veterinary medicine and is the first one of its kind in the UK.
The machine is based on a similar model for use in humans and its fantastic capabilites and image quality means faster, better diagnoses.
Ultrasound allows us to view images of the internal anatomy of the body in real-time, such as the heart in motion, the abdominal organs, eyes, masses, tendons and, of course, the fetus in utero.
Some diagnoses we have already made using our new machine include: intestinal intussusception, polycystic kidney disease, bile duct obstruction in a cat, pancreatitis in a cat, dilated cardiomyopathy (dilation of the heart) in a Cocker Spaniel, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (thickening of the heart muscle) in several cats, abdominal tumours in cats and dogs, bladder tumours, benign bladder polyps and more.
The faster we get to a diagnosis, the faster we can start treatment and therefore the better the prognosis.

We've just completed a review of the entire website to ensure it complies with the W3C Accessibility Guidelines. Compliance means the site can be easily used by disabled people, such as those with visual impairment. Whilst most of the web-site already complied, we've made a few changes where necessary to bring the whole website inline with the guidelines. If you are a disabled user, we'd love to hear if our changes have made the website easier to use, of if there are further improvement we could make.
